Kind of hard not to get close to the water when landing at an airport that is at the water&#8217;s edge and at such a low altitude. This looked like a good landing to me. I didn&#8217;t see any rooster tails from the landing gear. And if you noticed the jet still went a ways down the runway before coming in contact with the tarmac.

Burano has lace and all of that. It is one of those places that could be visited in about an hour.Murano is a little more interesting to walk through (especially the residential neighborhoods)In Venice I recall some bar that sold absinthe and I am trying to remember the name of the gelato place that I really really liked. (considered some of the best in the city)For dinner La Zucca is good. Vegetarian and meat options and a dandy pumpkin flan that is just terrific for a starter.

well this isn't exactly a Christmas tadirtion because we do Christmas as well. A busy month for us December!@Martina I heard the Danish have them too and I know (because I lived there) in Norway you have 'Pepperkake' which taste very similar to my Pepernoten. Must be a North European thing. :)@Margaret I'm sure Sinterklaas 'emigrated' with many Dutch folks to Canada and Australia etc. I'm guessing the little song you mentioned was 'Sinterklaas kapoentje' :)
